^ Feat. the one and only DRESDEN, once again! Love you, babe.

It’s comforting to me to have a plan. I’m that person who likes to have everything figured out, 24/7. And there’s nothing wrong with that! That’s the way I am. But I’ve learned to be. . .spontaneous. I’ve learned that it’s OK when I don’t have everything figured out, or when my plans don’t happen the way I expect, or even happen at all. And to me, the spontaneous events are the best, and most memorable.

I once saw a white banner hanging on the porch of a house, flapping in the breeze. On it were painted these words: MAN PLANS, GOD LAUGHS. I grinned to myself when I saw this, because I realized that it’s probably true. God is probably chuckling on his thrown, while watching us scribble away on our planners and calendars.

If you read a prior post of mine: NEW YEAR’S GOALS, you may be familiar with one of my main goals this year: to step out of my comfort zone, and say hello to new! As I mentioned, it’s comforting to me to have a plan. So in order to step out of my comfort zone, I need to be spontaneous!

God has also taught me to write with a pencil, rather than a pen. Because we’re only humans, and our plans may fail no matter how big or small. So be prepared to use your eraser, because God’s plans are bigger and better than ours, and He’ll take care of us through it all. Don’t worry! he’s got a plan, and it’s written in permanent ink.

Yours in Christ – R.E.D.
